Ingredients

  • 1 package Hawaiian rolls 12 count, halved lengthwise - Kings Hawaiian recommended
  • 6 ounces deli ham thinly sliced
  • 5 ounces salami thinly sliced
  • 5 ounces pepperoni thinly sliced
  • 9 slices provolone cheese
  • 1/3 cup pepperoncini sliced
  • 1/3 cup pickled hot cherry peppers sliced
  • 1/4 cup salted butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 cloves garlic fresh, crushed or minced
  • 1 cup marinara sauce warmed for dipping

Equipment

  • Baking sheet or rectangular baking pan
  • Small bowl
  • Pastry brush or silicone brush
  • Aluminum foil
  • Serrated knife
  • Cutting board

Method

  1. Preheat and Prepare: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Using a long serrated knife, carefully slice the entire pack of Hawaiian rolls horizontally while keeping them connected. Place the bottom half in a baking sheet or rectangular pan.
  2. Layer the Fillings: Layer ham slices evenly over the bottom rolls, followed by salami, then pepperoni. Add provolone cheese slices, tearing or folding as needed for complete coverage. Scatter pepperoncini and hot cherry peppers evenly over the cheese. Place the top half of rolls over the fillings and press down gently.
  3. Make Garlic Butter: In a small bowl, combine melted butter, Italian seasoning, and crushed garlic. Mix well. Using a pastry brush, generously brush the seasoned butter over the tops of the rolls, getting into all the nooks and crannies.
  4. Bake: Cover the pan tightly with aluminum foil. Bake for 30 minutes until cheese is melted and rolls are golden brown. For extra color, remove foil during the last 5 minutes.
  5. Serve: Remove from oven and let rest 2-3 minutes. Cut along perforations to separate into individual sliders. Serve immediately with warmed marinara sauce for dipping if desired.

Notes

  • Make Ahead: Assemble sliders completely, cover with foil, and refrigerate up to 24 hours. Add butter mixture just before baking and add 5-10 extra minutes to baking time.
  • Adjust Spice Level: Use mild banana peppers and roasted red peppers for less heat, or add jalapeños for more kick.
  • Storage: Refrigerate leftovers up to 3 days. Reheat in oven at 350°F for 10 minutes or air fryer at 325-350°F for 3-5 minutes.
  • Freezing: Freeze baked sliders wrapped tightly for up to 2 months. Reheat from frozen at 350°F for 20-25 minutes.
  • Scaling: Recipe doubles or triples easily. Kings Hawaiian makes 18 and 24-packs for larger crowds.
  • Fresh Garlic: Use fresh garlic instead of jarred for best flavor in the butter mixture.
